You Need Support Too

As a care partner, there are times when you are going to need someone to talk to. A good place to start is the patient’s transplant team. They are also there to support you. So call them with anything. A lot of transplant centers also have social workers and financial coordinators who can help you with everything from creating a financial plan to finding you additional support or counseling.

Support groups can also be very beneficial, especially if you’re feeling alone during the transplant process. But talking to people who’ve been through, or are going through, the same thing can help. There are a lot of concerns and feelings that are universal among care partners.
